Macmillan Education Eswatini has unveiled an exciting new promotion for 2024 titled “The Book Rush,” a competition designed to reward the company’s loyal high school and bookseller clients. The campaign, set to run until the 30th of November 2024, affords each winner a chance to walk away with one of laptops valued at E200,000 – assets which Macmillan Education considers as valuable tools for supporting education and business alike.

The promotion was announced by Bongani Motsa, the Managing Director of Macmillan Education Eswatini. Unpacking the story behind "The Book Rush," Mr. Motsa said Macmillan Education Eswatini is, through this initiative, reaffirming her commitment to partnerships which is a core pillar of the company. “Macmillan is doing its best to ensure that the company’s promotions move towards a mutually beneficial direction,” the managing director stated. “While the promotion encourages schools to place their orders of books early to avoid delays in deliveries, the laptops bought by the company are valuable assets needed by both schools and booksellers”, he explained.

He also explained why they chose laptops for the promotion. “The choice of the laptops as prizes also reflects Macmillan’s understanding of the digital needs of modern educational institutions and businesses. In an era where technology is essential to both learning and operational efficiency, the laptops offer a practical advantage to winners, enabling them to support digital literacy and streamline administrative work”, he said.

The promotion is open to all High Schools and Booksellers across the country who meet the set criteria for participation. To qualify, high schools are required to place a minimum order of E30,000, while booksellers must make a minimum order of E80,000. By setting these thresholds, Macmillan aims to encourage educational institutions and booksellers alike to prepare early, securing the materials they need in advance and thus avoiding delivery delays in the dawn of next academic year.

By incentivizing schools and booksellers to secure their materials in advance, Macmillan also supports its own operational efficiency, ensuring that distribution timelines align with delivery expectations and reduce potential bottlenecks. With a deadline of November 30, 2024, the promotion allows ample time for participants to place qualifying orders and stand a chance to win themselves these prizes as the motive is to not only stimulate schools to act with speed but to also equip the value chain.
